Day 13.
59 cities down 2 to go and on our own turf. I had very mixed emotions as I started the car for what would be the last time on this trip. Sat outside the hotel in Wolverhampton, the big black cat purring underneath me, the sun shining over head and one of the best friends I have ever had sat next to me. So close to finishing this journey, not only physically visiting all 61 official UK mainland cities (which I have sincebenn told has never been done before) but also the massive personal journey we had all embarked apon on the 1st of June.
We set off with the Wolverhampton guys of the JEC heading for Birmingham town hall, Castle Bromwich Jaguar and finally Coventry.
Birmingham went without a hitch straight in straight out.
Birmingham Town Hall.
Next was Castle Bromwich to meet up with the convoy we had arranged to follow us over to Coventry. We had a wonderful greeting, I had expected a few cars to turn to follow us maybe 10 – 15 would have been great 42 however had decied to show up!!!
A snake of jaguars headed to Coventry at 11.15am on the dot…..I never felt so proud leading the way across the town I love followed by cars I adore and of course friends and family waiting for me in Coventry.
I entered Coventry’s Millenium place in front of there brilliant transport museum feeling more nervous than I have ever felt before. I had butterflies, I felt sick however this was immediatley put to one side when I saw my little boy James beeming at me across the square. At that moment I felt so proud and finally felt I had achieved what I had set out to do.
we popped a cork or 2 (thanks to my Uncle Colin) the cars were lined up and I felt as high as a kite. We had done it, without the cars breaking once, without outside help and 15 minutes early to boot. So to all the sceptics who thought it wasnt going to happen who thought the cars or us wouldn’t have been able to cope or finish the drive this is for you NER NER NER NER NER! (please note at this point I am sticking my tonuge out with my thumb on the end of my nose wiggling my fingers!)
I Have said it a million times I want to extend my humble thanks to everyone who has supported us, everyone who has donated no matter how large or how small every penny is very appreciated and I am truley humbled by every single one of you
Lots of Love CGx
p.s keep tuned in for the drive revealed!
